Welcoming Dodger and Skye…

This week we have welcomed two new furry friends, our guinea pigs Dodger and Skye to the setting, we have adopted them from the Blue Cross Centre. Sonia kindly set the wheels in motion a few weeks ago to start the adoption process, and the two guinea pigs were introduced and became firm friends. The children have loved meeting Dodger and Skye, giving them lots of cuddles and attention. The two guinea pigs are gradually settling into the nursery spending time here and at Sonia’s house for the first week or so.

Dodger and Skye are a little nervous at the minute so staff are encouraging children to use very gentle hands and quiet voices when handling them. Dodger is also partially sighted so staff are supporting children to chat to him before they stroke him so not to make him jump.
